Midlands Regional Meeting Join us! We meet bi-monthly on the first Friday of the month. We
will not have our Friday February 3rd meeting at the Children's
Hospital as the Annual Meeting is the following weekend at the Embassy
Suites in Columbia.
Lets
get the Midlands region very well represented at this meeting. NOTE
that the registration rates for the Annual Meeting will increase soon so
if you haven't signed up already please do so. January Outing
THE JANUARY MIDLANDS OUTING: The Saturday January 21st shoot at the Bear Island and Donnely WMA's (located in southern Colleton County) should be fun and hopefully productive. This will be an opportunity to photograph Tundra swans and who knows what else at Mary's pond which is just outside of the entrance to the Bear Island WMA ( the latter is closed until sometime in February) There are also other marshy impoundments on the Bennets Point Road (which leads to Bear Island and it runs right past Mary's pond) The Donnelly WMA will be open BUT there may be special hunts in progress so we are not to go around or thru any closed gates or gates/areas with signs saying closed. PLEASE E-MAIL Don Wuori (MrSisu@aol.com) IF YOUR PLANNING TO ATTEND THIS TRIP AND SEND DON YOUR CELL NUMBER.
Cowasee Basin Project
John Cely, naturalist asked our group for help with images of the Cowasee Basin ie the area around the Midlands, that could be used in a proposed coffee table book on the Basin. Thanks to all who participated in this project. Click here to view the Cowasee Basin brochure. ![]() |
